INSPIRATIONS
—
The need to create and express where words no longer pave a path outward has always accompanied me. The earliest conduits were paper, pencil, paints, and ink, later joined by canvas. Over time, distant places began to call me more strongly. Traveling became both an escape and a reflection of internal, profound journeys. I rediscovered myself in new spaces and encountered people along the way. Working with ink and the human body became my everyday, and meeting another human being felt most natural to me, yet intense.
My greatest solace was always found in silence, in stillness, in pause. Thus, to decompress my mind and clear my head, I took hold of a camera and I fell in love espescially with analog cameras. Through this medium, I found emotions akin to those I experienced while painting with watercolors. Releasing complete control and curiously observing the successive stages of creation is what draws me most. Here, I can simultaneously let go of what needs releasing and linger in softening, stillness, nostalgia. Slowly awaiting the new. Very slowly.
Throughout my lifelong journey in creation, I learned the art of drawing inspiration from one to another. It's vital for me to continuously discover, observe, and connect. Each of these paths develops my sensitivity in a unique way, yet all are tied by one recurring element: nature permeating and influencing everything I do. I suppose my act of creation is a tribute to her—The greatest Creator of all, Nature.
